LORNA SIMPSON. THIRD PERSON
From 29 March to 22 November 2026

Now open at Punta della Dogana – Pinault Collection, Lorna Simpson. Third Person marks the most significant presentation of Lorna Simpson’s work in Europe in more than a decade. Curated by Emma Lavigne, General Director and General Curator of the Pinault Collection, the exhibition brings together some 50 works spanning painting, collage, sculpture, installation, and film.

Organised in partnership with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where an initial version, Source Notes, was presented in spring 2025, Lorna Simpson. Third Person includes emblematic series such as Ice, Special Characters, and Earth and Sky, alongside newly commissioned works created for Punta della Dogana. Spanning more than 20 years of Simpson’s practice, it explores themes of representation, memory, and the construction of images.

Bottega Veneta’s support reflects the house’s ongoing commitment to its origin city of Venice and to pioneering craft and creativity across the arts. The partnership continues an ongoing dialogue with Pinault Collection following the house’s support of exhibitions including Thomas Schütte. Genealogies (2025) and Pierre Huyghe: Liminal (2024).
