The art of collaboration
Fall-Winter 2010 2011 – Robert Longo
Location: Studio, New York City
The Fall/Winter 2010-2011 marked the first time Bottega Veneta presented the women’s and men’s collections together in one campaign. The artist was Robert Longo, and the inspiration was Longo’s legendary “Men in the Cities” series from the late 1970s and early 1980s. Both collections touched on questions of strength and power, exploring ways of dressing that express a multifaceted individuality. The emphasis was on the silhouette, the construction characterized by contrasts of structure and fluidity. In a series of striking black-and-white images, Longo brings both halves of the brand together with a sense of humanity that is as moving as it is graphic.
