While Japan’s traditional architecture is widely regarded as a national treasure, much of the country’s significant post-war architecture is at risk of being demolished.
With acclaimed Hotel Okura Tokyo, fondly admired by Tomas Maier, scheduled to go under renovation in 2015, we have decided to create #MyMomentAtOkura and encourage those who have the same appreciation for the Modernist gem to join us in spreading awareness of the mastery and the magic it reflects, through the simple yet meaningful gesture of sharing your moment at Okura.
Each moment is an acknowledgment of the importance this landmark carries, and the dedication to raise awareness is important to preserve their integrity and allow them to serve to creatively and culturally inspire the next generation. Every gesture counts.
If you’re inclined to join, here is how:
Step 1: Visit Hotel Okura Tokyo and take a photo of your moment at Okura. Or, search through your photo album for a picture.
Step 2: Please tag your photo with the hashtag #MyMomentAtOkura
Step 3: Make a post on your Instagram account
